Decompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess opens the way for a PC port
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is considered one of the high points of the legendary series. The GameCube era itself is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, and the demand for the return of games from that golden age is growing.
Unfortunately, even if you own the original game, playing it on original hardware can be difficult and inconvenient due to changes in display technology over the past twenty years. The best way to enjoy it now would be a convenient PC port that would bring Twilight Princess into 2026. And, as it turns out, this is about to become a reality.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is coming to PC
On YouTube, the channel Video Game Esoterica shared extensive gameplay footage of Twilight Princess running on PC, after the game was finally fully decompiled. For those unfamiliar with the term, this means the game's machine code has been reverse-engineered and translated into C/C++, allowing it to be ported to PC for the first time.
Although the arrival of the game on the platform is still in its very early stages, it looks very promising, and a dedicated team is working hard to bring everything up to standard on PC. The most amazing thing is how quickly they managed to achieve this result, and now the possibilities are almost limitless.
To keep track of their progress, you can join the official Discord server where the team regularly posts updates on their progress, and there is a very supportive community there. Many other games from the GameCube era are currently undergoing similar treatment from other developers, and the community couldn't be happier.
I'm so glad that Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and Animal Crossing are the main targets for the first GameCube games to get PC ports. They are my favorite GameCube games of all time, and I can't wait to finally see them playable natively on PC.
THANKS FOR THIS TO THE DEVELOPERS. With this, I will revive my playing of this game again. Maybe with Online Coop, my little brother will be able to play with me.
There are no limits for Zelda fans
The The Legend of Zelda franchise remains incredibly popular, and its fans show boundless creativity and skill in bringing classic titles from a bygone era to PC. It is important to have a legitimate copy of the game to keep everything legal before playing the port, but otherwise, it's a great time to be a retro Nintendo fan.
