Основной сюжет Hollow Knight: Silksong разделён на три акта. Вместе они состоят из 21 основного сюжетного задания, однако за один прохождение игроки смогут завершить не более 20 из них. Для получения обычной концовки Silksong потребуется выполнить только девять.
Также существует 54 побочных задания, известных как Желания. Большинство из них необязательны, однако те, кто надеется открыть третий акт Hollow Knight: Silksong и увидеть истинную концовку игры, должны будут выполнить изрядную их часть, как и игроки, стремящиеся к 100% Завершению.
